The Denver Broncos aren't ready to name a new starting quarterback, but a decision could be coming soon. A day after Trevor Siemian was picked off three times in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, head coach Vance Joseph told Orange & Blue 760 AM that the team is exploring its options at the position.
"Right now, everything is being explored," Joseph said. "At the end of the day, I'm going to do what's best for the team."
Siemian has struggled in the last five weeks. He's thrown three touchdowns vs. eight interceptions as Denver's gone just 1-4.
If the Broncos choose to move on from Siemian as the starter this week, they will likely go with Brock Osweiler because former first-round pick Paxton Lynch is still recovering from a shoulder injury.
"Obviously, Paxton is still healing up,” Joseph said. "It would be unfair to put him out there right now."
Lynch sustained the injury to his throwing shoulder in an Aug. 26 preseason game.
Osweiler reunited with the Broncos on a one-year deal in September after the Cleveland Browns cut him. Osweiler spent the first four seasons of his career in Denver before bolting to the Houston Texans in free agency in March 2016.
The Broncos fell to 3-4 after Monday's loss. The next two weeks, they face the 7-1 Philadelphia Eagles and the 6-2 New England Patriots.
