The team behind the ever-popular Little Man Ice Cream is taking its charm and sweets to Stapleton.
The Constellation Ice Cream will open at Eastbridge Town Center in 2018 and, following Punch Bowl Social's lead, it'll pay homage to Stapleton's aviation history.
It's named for the Lockheed Constellation — a game-changing passenger plane in the mid-20th century — and the 354-square-foot walk-up kiosk and patio will prominently feature a 75-foot replica wing.
“It’s said that replication in design destroys wonder, and that’s why we’re not simply building another milk can,” owner Paul Tamburello said in a release. “More than bringing another Little Man outpost to the Stapleton neighborhood, we want to celebrate its distinct heritage. We believe people pride themselves on design and the unique characteristics built within the environment of their community — I am delighted our design respects the community’s history.”
Like all of Tamburello's ice cream shops, which also includes Sweet Cooie's in Congress Park, The Constellation will serve made-from-scratch ice cream, sorbet, homemade waffle cones and ice cream novelties. Among the treats to look forward to: flambéed Baked Alaska ice cream cake pops.
And in keeping with Little Man's other tradition, The Constellation will be charitable and community-minded. The Scoop for Scoop program sends a percentage of proceeds from each scoop of ice cream sold to a local or relevant nonprofit organization.
“Like all Little Man concepts, it’s our goal to be a hub for the community,” says director of operations Loren Martinez. “The Constellation Ice Cream will partner with local businesses and organizations to host frequent and seasonal events, and neighbors will be invited to enjoy the surrounding patio for these community gatherings.”
The Constellation joins a host of big-name restaurants at Eastbridge Town Center — one of the big players in Stapleton's recent dining and nightlife boom. The little complex also includes The Kitchen Next Door, Cattivella, Concourse, Los Chingones and HashTAG.
