Denver police are investigating a shooting on at East Colfax Avenue and North Monaco Parkway that left two people injured Saturday.

Officers shut down the area around 1 p.m.

Update: The area was reopened just before 2 p.m.

As of 1:30 p.m., no suspect information had been released.

This was the second shooting of the day on Monaco Parkway. About four hours earlier, Denver police responded to a shooting in the 800 block of South Monaco Parkway, near the intersection with Leetsdale Drive. That’s a little less than 3 miles south of the second incident. One person was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound on a leg.

There is no suspect information available for that shooting, either.

Denver police said they have no reason to believe the shootings are connected.
