The high in Denver today is 54 degrees, with mostly sunny skies expected. Around 10 p.m., a storm will bring a 70 percent chance of snow to Denver, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm may deliver about 1 to 2 inches to the urban area, and it could result in icy, snow-packed roads later in the night. The mountains could get up to 6 inches.

Thursday morning will see decreasing snow showers. Another storm system could arrive in Colorado this weekend, NWS reports.

The state has been in an extended snow drought.
