Business owners and a Denver city councilman want to make a display of inclusiveness on Broadway -- no, really, it would be on Broadway.
A proposed project would stripe an intersection near Broadway and First Avenue with two rainbow-colored crosswalks.
The idea's a collaboration between the clothing store Buffalo Exchange, the Baker Broadway Merchant Association and the office of Councilman Jolon Clark.
"This project is a visual demonstration of the neighborhood's spirit of inclusiveness and support for the LGBTQIA+ community," the project site states.
The permanent installation would be made from thermoplastic pavement markers, which the organizers describe as a mixture of glass beads, pigments and other materials that can "withstand the daily wear and tear of Broadway traffic."
They're hoping to raise $25,000 and finish the project by PrideFest this May. So far, they've got $10 in contributions.
