Aurora Fire crews have a contained a small brush fire that forced a handful of evacuations near the southwest area of Cherry Creek State Park.
The fire was reported at around 3:15 p.m. near Chambers and Parker Roads. The fire department said the fire will "require significant mop-up" and that firefighters will be on site for an extended time ensure hotspots are watered.
Crews went door to door to evacuate fewer than a dozen homes and condos near the area, according to Aurora Fire.
No injuries or damage to structures were reported, other than to a bridge and some vegetation in a nearby open space.
