The Westwood Branch Library is reopening on Aug. 1 after closing for renovations in June.

To celebrate the facility's refresh, a community open house will be hosted on Friday, Aug. 4 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at 1000 S. Lowell Blvd.

The library's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday beginning Aug. 1.

Aside from a cosmetic update, the facility was also expanded to include a new computer lab, lobby and increased its usable space by 50%, according to a DPL press release.

The updates were funded through a property tax increase that was passed in November 2022 creating an additional $32 million pool of money to help fund Denver Public Library needs such as higher wages, improved technology, additional programs and expanded hours at various branches.
