A power outage knocked out Denver's ability to respond to 911 calls for about a half hour Wednesday afternoon.

Some calls made to Denver's emergency communications center were routed to "neighboring jurisdictions," according to the Public Safety Department, during the outage. The agency first reported the outage in a post on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, at 3:47 p.m.

As of 4:21 p.m., the city's 911 service had been restored.
