There's an eerie mist on the horizon. A mysterious clinking rings in your ears. In one direction, you glimpse a vampire creeping through the shadows. In another direction, a serial killer lurks in the brush. You catch a whiff of something smoky. Is that a campfire - or the smell of mezcal in the air?

This October, Denver bars are inviting you to indulge in a scary good time. Whether you're looking for a drink in a historic, haunted building or you want a picture-perfect cocktail in a trendy Halloween pop-up, the city has options to die for. Some are here year-round, while others are around for a limited time only.

So gather your friends, prepare your costume and get ready for a night on the town! But don't stay out too late, the witching hour might devour you...

Year-Round Haunts

These bars are open year-round, but they're offering chilling drink specials and creepy events for Halloween. Stop by while the festivities last.

The Crypt

1618 E 17th Ave.

Monday to Friday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. / Saturday & Sunday 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.

This horror punk bar, known for its vegan offerings, has a full calendar of events for Halloween week. Entertainment includes live music, drag, and goth night in City Park West.

This new underworld-themed speakeasy serves devilish drinks and sinfully good bites in Denver's Highland neighborhood.

Slashers

Sunday to Saturday 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

This horror-themed dive bar, located in Denver's Hale neighborhood, is known for craft cocktails and ever-present scary movie screenings. On Oct. 13 and 14, there will be a special anime horror night with live trap and bass music by Crux My Heart.

Honor Farm occupies the first floor of a historic, haunted building in the Union Station neighborhood. Hell or High Water Tiki, a gay pirate extravaganza, resides upstairs. Fall specials include a Halloween menu, live music, drag brunch, horror movie trivia, a burlesque party, Friday the 13th party, and more.

Adrift

This Speer neighborhood tiki bar is renowned for craft cocktails, Polynesian and Caribbean fare, and delightful Halloween ambiance. All October long, Red Rum Wednesdays offer a special menu of island cocktails, freaky tiki mugs, and horror-ific movies on the big screen.

This immersive, Tim Burton-inspired Halloween bar is decked out with haunted decor, themed drinks, and creepy quests. Get tickets soon, reservations are booking up!

Admission includes:

  • A boozy welcome drink (non-alcoholic versions also available)

At Camp Shiver Creek, the cocktails are cold, the fires are hot, and a serial killer is on the loose! Join counselors for a full roster of activities, such as horror movie nights, themed trivia, live DJs, and human and pet costume parties. Plus, there will be a special, after-hours party on Oct. 28, promising a wild night of high jinks and mischief.

You're invited to an immersive '80s Gothic and New Wave vampire experience inside Denver's iconic Sport's Castle. There, you can witness hourly drag and burlesque performances, imbibe in horror-themed cocktails, interact with vampire denizens, and dance the night away.

For Halloween, LoHi's My Neighbor Felix has been transformed into Felix Haunted Mansion. The bar is dressed in its holiday best and the menu features specialty drinks inspired by classic horror movies like "Scream" and "Hocus Pocus," as well as the restaurant's typical Mexican fare.

This October, the bar at the Mansion on Colfax is transformed into an immersive Halloween experience. Guests are invited to this purportedly haunted mansion for themed cocktails, guest performers, classic horror flicks, and more.

Denver's Poka Lola Social Club has been transformed into the Poka Muah Ha Ha, with a menu inspired by villains, creatures, monsters, and more. Drop in for live music and libations all month long.
