AdventHealth Porter's boiler system failed, leaving the hospital next to Harvard Gulch Park on Downing St. without heat or hot water.

The disaster forced the hospital to shut down its operations, transfer patients and close its emergency room and all hospital services.

"Clinical teams are diligently working to transport patients to nearby facilities based on each patient's individual medical needs," according to a statement from the hospital.

CEO Todd Folkenberg told 9News on Monday afternoon that the hospital was struggling to find beds for behavioral health patients.

By Tuesday, all the patients had been either discharged or sent to other area hospitals, Folkenberg told Denverite.

Roughly 150 procedures scheduled through Friday, Nov. 3, will be rescheduled, and the hospital hopes to bring its facility back online on Monday.

"Our medical teams are working to relocate these procedures to other local AdventHealth facilities when possible," according to the statement. "If you have a procedure planned during this time, our team will reach out to help reschedule your appointment and ensure continuity of care."

The medical buildings at 850 and 950 E. Harvard and at the Porter Medical Plaza at 2535 S. Downing Street are still open and in business.

The next closest emergency room patients can go to is Swedish Medical Center in Englewood.
