It’s been one year since Denver’s box-headed superhero danced to house music during the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.
The parade returns in all of its green colored glory in celebration of Denver’s Irish heritage, a decades long tradition in the city.
Here’s what you need to know about the parade
The 62nd Annual Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade takes place Saturday, March 16 starting at 9:30 a.m.
The route first steps out onto 19th Street from behind ChopHouse & Brewery Denver and continues towards Union Station before turning left on 17th Street.
Much of the parade route will travel along Blake Street between 17th Street and 27th Street, where it ends. The best spots for families are in those last few blocks along Blake Street, between 23rd and 27th avenues.
The use of public transportation is encouraged, but the first come, first serve Coors Field parking structure, located at 27th and Blake Street, will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. for entry.
Expect wet weather conditions on parade day. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), there is a slight chance of snow between noon and 1 p.m., followed by a chance of rain after 1 p.m.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade at Union Station
Date: Saturday, March 16, 8:30-2 p.m.

Stop by the Terminal Bar Patio for a drink specials and a great view of the parade, enjoy giveaways, a 360 photo booth and music by DJ Chris.
Shamrock the Block at Dairy Block
Date: Saturday, March 16, 11-3 p.m.
Location: 1800 Wazee St.
Enjoy a lineup of food, drinks and live entertainment like high-spirited performances of Celtic classics by violinists, guitarists and other dance performances.
St. Patrick’s Day Block Party & Pub Crawl
Date: Saturday, March 16 & Sunday, March 17
Price: $30
This pub crawl gives you access to places such as Larimer Beer Hall, Tom’s Watch Bar and Giggling Grizzly, packaged with drink specials and welcome shots at select venues.
Celtic Awakening at Newman Center for the Performing Arts
Date: Saturday, March 16, 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Location: 2344 E. Iliff Ave.
Enjoy a live performance of sacred Celtic music rituals involving brass, bagpipes and dancing that early Celts believed would purify the soul and lead to a long and prosperous life. Adult tickets start at $39 with two other performances scheduled for Saturday evening and Sunday.
St. Patrick’s Weekend at Fortissimo
Date: Friday, March 15 & Saturday, March 16, Show is 8:30-1 a.m.
Location: 891 14th St.
Check out Denver’s dueling piano venue for weekend performances in celebration of the Irish holiday. General admission tickets are $15. Doors open at 5 p.m., happy hour is 5-8 p.m. and the dueling piano shows are from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
