A California man recently hit the Santa Monica Pier to play his acoustic guitar in the hopes of making a little money.
The man, who turns out to be Broncos quarterback Mark Sanchez dressed in a black fedora, gray vest, jeans and cheap sunglasses, strummed along and sang to tunes such as Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself,” the Counting Crows’ “Mr. Jones and Old Crow Medicine Show’s “Wagon Wheel” as passerby looked on.
Sanchez went undercover as a street musician for a commercial with Draft Kings, the popular daily fantasy sports website.
The Long Beach, California, native showed off some decent musical skills. Some pedestrians dropped change or stray bills in his guitar case. One person even gave him $50.
Not that Sanchez needs it. He’s earned close to $70 million since entering the NFL in 2009, according to Spotrac.
Is it possible Sanchez turns heel this season like “High School Musical” Zac Efron and gives up sports because he’s got the music inside him? Denverite will keep you updated.
