Broncos’ Brandon Marshall kneels for national anthem before season opener

Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall became the latest athlete to take a knee during the national anthem.

As Andrea Day belted out the “The Star Spangled Banner” minutes before the Broncos took on the Panthers, Marshall kneeled down in what appears to be a move of solidarity with 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Kaerpernick took a knee in San Francisco’s preseason finale, and explained he did so as a way to protest racial injustice in America.

Marshall and Kaepernick were teammates in college at Nevada.
