The Aurora Police Department is investigating the death of a 29-year-old woman who was found dead with a gunshot wound to her body.

Officers responded to Americana Apartments at 407 S. Memphis Way for a welfare check around 7:16 a.m. They found the door slightly ajar and the woman dead on the floor inside. No one else was in the apartment and there are no suspects in custody.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office will release the victim’s identity when her next of kin have been notified.
Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call agent Alton Reed with the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit at 303-739-6068.
