It’s official: Colorado will once again host a World Cup qualifying match. The United States men’s national team will take on Trinidad and Tobago on June 8 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, the Rapids announced Monday.

The Americans (1-1-2, four points) are in fourth place in their group after four qualifying matches. They need to finish in the top three to get a guaranteed spot in the 2018 World Cup, which is being held in Russia.

“In a World Cup Qualifying campaign, winning games at home is critical,” said U.S. head coach Bruce Arena. “In all ways, Denver provides a great environment for our team. We are at an important stage of the campaign, and we look forward to the great support.”

This marks the third-straight qualifying cycle that Dick’s Sporting Goods Park will host a game. In 2013, the U.S. beat Costa Rica 1-0 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park under snowy conditions.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale to Rapids season ticket holders Thursday. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. April 14 online at www.ussoccer.com.
