Andrei Mironov is making the move from the Kontinental Hockey League to the National Hockey League. On Friday, the Colorado Avalanche made it official that they had agreed to an entry-level deal with the Russian defenseman.

The Avalanche selected Mironov in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Draft. Mironov, 22, wound up playing five seasons with Dynamo Moscow before deciding to come over to the NHL.

He recorded 12 goals and 28 assists with the club. Mironov, who's listed at 6-foot-2 and 194 pounds, played in only 18 games last season due to injury.

Mironov is under contract for two years with Colorado. His deal runs through the 2018-19 season.
