Denver Nuggets acquire Jazz’s Trey Lyles in draft-night deal

The Denver Nuggets traded back.

Denver was on the clock withe the 13th pick in the first round of the NBA Draft on Thursday and made a deal to send Louisville guard Donavan Mitchell to the Utah Jazz in exchange for power forward Trey Lyles and the 24th pick.

Lyles is entering his third NBA season. He averaged 6.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 16.3 minutes per game with Utah a season ago. He's shown the ability to hit 3s in his professional career. He shot 38.3 percent from deep as a rookie.
