Kalyn Heffernan said she wasn't done fighting the Republican health care plan, and she's true to her word.
When the local MC and her fellow activists were released after 30 hours in jail following their 58-hour sit-in at Sen. Cory Gardner's Denver office, she told Denverite, “We’re gonna keep the heat on him, especially now, the way all that shit went down. It’s pretty foul and unnecessary.”
Two weeks later, Heffernan and her hip-hop group, Wheelchair Sports Camp, recorded a Gardner diss track.
"Mister politician man," she begins. "I saw you on the news, talking about us. Acting like you give a fuck."

Heffernan and other activists from ADAPT found themselves and their fight against the Republican health care plan in a national spotlight when they camped out in Gardner's downtown Denver office, refusing to leave until the senator committed to standing against his party's plan.
“We’re here to demand the right to live, again and again — and we’re going to have to keep demanding that because we’ve been told that we aren’t as worthy of life as a lot of other people,” Heffernan said during the sit-in. “For me, personally, if I lose Medicaid — that’s like my wheelchairs. Without my wheelchairs, I don’t get around.”
The group live streamed the sit-in and their arrests and drew a large crowd of supporters while they were held for more than a day at the downtown Denver jail.
