Do not come in Brandon Marshall’s mentions with angry tweets intended for the other Brandon Marshall

Football fans have a hard time distinguishing Brandon Marshall from Brandon Marshall, even though one plays linebacker for a team in the Mountain Time Zone and the other is a wide receiver who plays in New York.

Take Monday night for instance.

The route-running, pass-catching Marshall and his team, the New York Giants, were taking on the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football. The other Marshall, who plays linebacker for the Broncos, was relaxing after he helped Denver throttle the Dallas Cowboys a day earlier.

The Broncos' Marshall had the night off ... and yet he watched as a stream of angry tweets filtered into his mentions:

These tweets were intended for the Marshall who finished with a single catch for 17 yards in the Giants' 24-10 loss Monday. But they were sent to the Marshall who had seven tackles Sunday. So Marshall — the one in Denver — decided to have some fun with the trolls.

The idea of an angry Giants fan trying to meet Marshall in the parking lot in East Rutherford, New Jersey, when the Marshall he typed his tweet to was chilling comfortably in Denver makes me laugh. It'd be a better version of Meet Me in Temecula.

It must be a little annoying for the Broncos' Marshall to share the same name as the star wide receiver who's caught 82 career TD passes. He seems to handle it pretty well, though.
