It’s official: The Colorado Rockies are postseason bound

The Rockies clinched a Wild Card berth less than an hour before they took on the Los Angeles Dodgers in their second-to-last game of the season.

Send Harrison Bader a thank you note. On Saturday, the St. Louis rookie drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning of the Cardinals’ 7-6 come-from-behind win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Milwaukee, which led 6-0 at one point, was chasing the Rockies for the National League’s final Wild Card spot. The Brewers are now officially eliminated from playoff contention, meaning that for just the fourth time in the last 25 years, the Colorado Rockies are postseason bound.

The Rockies clinched a Wild Card berth less than an hour before they took on the Los Angeles Dodgers in their second-to-last game of the season. They will play the Diamondbacks in Arizona at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The winner of that game will move on to face the Dodgers in the NLDS.

The Rockies (87-73) last went to the playoffs in 2009. They fell to the Philadelphia Phillies in the NLDS in four games.
