Snow was falling across Denver early this Monday morning, coating itself to trees and lawns. The storm was expected to continue into the afternoon.
Accumulation could total 1 to 4 inches along the Interstate 25 corridor and up to 6 inches in the foothills, according to the National Weather Service.
Roads in the city and plains are expected to become slushy as snowfall intensifies later in the morning, and travel could be slow and hazardous at any point during the storm. Roads in the mountains and foothills could become snowy and slick, according to NWS.
The area is under a winter storm warning that expires at 3 p.m. today, after which things are expected to clear out quickly. The evening commute should be dry, but tonight will be cold, with temperatures dropping into the low 20s.
