Colorado-based, all-natural fried and roasted chicken joint Yellowbelly Chicken is getting two new locations to close out 2017 — one in Arvada and one in Lakewood.

The Lakewood location will be inside the Whole Foods Market at Belmar shopping center, as promised. It's part of a program pioneered this year by Biju's Little Curry Shop in which the grocery store provides space for restaurateurs.

The Arvada restaurant will be just off I-70 at Wadsworth, across the street from Costco.

Though it's a fast-casual restaurant, Yellowbelly's pull is in healthiness. The chicken is hormone- and antibiotic-free, and the fried chicken is gluten-free. Everything is made from scratch from organic and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

“At Yellowbelly we want to change the way people eat by offering better versions of food they already love, like fried chicken! We’re excited to share our food with our neighbors and friends in Arvada and Lakewood,” Michael Friedberg, CMO of Yellowbelly Chicken, said in a release. “It’s vital to eat things that you love and make you happy; food is more than just macronutrients and fuel. At Yellowbelly we have a true love for quality, clean ingredients and we incorporate that passion into the food we serve.”

The Arvada Yellowbelly will open at 11 a.m. Dec. 8 and the Whole Foods Yellowbelly will open at 11 a.m. Dec. 13. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily in Arvada and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily in Lakewood.

KBCO will broadcast live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Belmar opening and give away tickets to an invite-only only Lumineers show at the Bluebird Theater every hour, on the hour.

Yellowbelly already has restaurants in Vail, Boulder and Stanley Marketplace in Aurora.
