Fort Collins craft brewing giants New Belgium and Odell say they’ll end up making their Denver debuts in 2018.

Both New Belgium Brewing Co. and Odell Brewing Co. were hoping to be open in Denver before the end of the year, but their developments ran into construction delays, according to representatives for the breweries.

New Belgium is now looking to a May 2018 opening for The Woods taproom near Brighton Boulevard and 35th Street, according to the Englewood-based firm who handles public relations for the company.

The Woods is slated to include brewing on the ground floor of the Source Hotel as well a rooftop lounge and barrel aging on the eighth floor of the development. Construction delays on the Source Hotel pushed the opening of The Woods back, New Belgium spokesman Jesse Claeys said Tuesday.

The Denver-based developer of the 100-room hotel, Zeppelin Development, said the delay “reflects the normal changes in construction timelines.”

“We’re excited The Source Hotel has an official opening date of May 1, 2018,” said Kyle Zeppelin, president of Zeppelin Development. “We’re looking forward to debuting one of the most exciting new designs in the hotel industry ahead of Denver’s summer season.”

Late last month, Odell said it ran into construction delays on its taproom in Denver. The brewery plans to open next year about a half mile southwest of The Woods at 2945 Larimer St.
