A person is dead after being hit by a train where the tracks cross Bayaud Street near Santa Fe Drive Thursday afternoon.

Denver Police on Twitter said they were investigating the incident at around 12:15 p.m., and reported that the person had died about an hour later.

RTD shut down light rail service in the area, affecting the C, D, E, F and H lines, and is running a shuttle between the Broadway and 10th & Osage Stations. At about 2:20 p.m., RTD said the light rail lines would be running again within two hours.
