Denverites headed to and from Denver International Airport via the Regional Transportation District's (RTD) A Line this Saturday and Sunday should plan for some extra commute time.

The A Line will run normally between Union Station and Peoria. But maintenance work will shut down service the rest of the way to the airport.

RTD will provide shuttle buses for airport travelers at the following stops:

  • Peoria Station at Gate E
  • 40th Ave. and Airport/Gateway Park at Gate A
  • 61st/Peña next to the platform
  • Denver Airport at Gate 7

The repairs come after a string of light rail maintenance has disrupted service across the city in recent weeks.

"RTD will perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on the overhead electrical wires that power the agency's commuter rail trains," RTD wrote in a statement Monday. "The shutdown will also accommodate third-party work adjacent to the tracks at Denver Airport Station."

Editor's note: This story has been updated. The A Line is a commuter rail line, not a light rail line as originally stated.
