Aurora police identify body found in icy pond as missing 6-year-old David Puckett

The Aurora Police Department has announced that the boy’s body recovered from an icy pond in Olympic Park was that of 6-year-old David Puckett.

The Aurora Police Department has announced that the boy’s body recovered from an icy pond in Olympic Park was that of 6-year-old David Puckett, who went missing on New Year’s Eve.

An autopsy was performed today and no traumatic injuries were found, the department said in a statement on Facebook. The cause and manner of death are still being investigated, and the Aurora Police Crimes Against Children Unit is still working to learn more about the circumstances that lead to David’s death.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office has been notified of the positive ID.
