Big brewers mad at small brewers:
The Brewers Association has a new label promoting beers made by small, independently owned craft breweries. It came as a shot across the bow last week for the many brewers who have recently sold out to beer giant Anheuser-Busch. Adrian reports. (Denverite)

Police reform:
Facing community pressure, the Denver Police Department decided to accept community input in developing its use-of-force policy. The first couple months have not gone smoothly, including tension over the fact that a former deputy district attorney was hired initially to run it. Sober Hill:
The young, stoned and often homeless crowd has dispersed from the hill in Commons Park. They've only gone a couple blocks away, but the local homeowners association is hopeful that an "activated" park and a harder enforcement edge will keep them out. The city also may start banning people from parks again. (Denverite)

Hick to Gardner:
The governor continues to have a prominent voice in the health care debate. He had an interview with the national show 1A. "You know, he’s in a tough spot," Hickenlooper said of Republican Sen. Cory Gardner. "Because his party’s gonna put tremendous pressure on him and he’s gotta look in his own heart and he’s gotta try and figure out what is the right thing for Colorado and the right thing for this country."
