Denver police are investigating a shooting Thursday afternoon, in which a driver of a vehicle shot a cyclist in the arm at First Avenue and Emerson Street in the Speer neighborhood.

A spokesperson for the Denver Police Department said they have not yet made any arrests and could not share additional information about the suspect or victim.

The shooting comes amid a rise in gun violence both in Denver and many places across the country, and as pedestrian and cyclist traffic deaths due to drivers rise.
