Can you tell me how to get, how to get $430,000? That's what's needed to place the starting bid on the royalties for two "Sesame Street" songs.
Royalty Exchange announced Wednesday it's offering a chance to buy a stake in the "Sesame Street" theme songs "Elmo's World" and "Abby's Flying Fairy School."
The Denver-based company is also throwing in screenwriter residuals for the Steven Spielberg-produced movies "An American Tail" and "Land Before Time," as well as royalties for 377 other musical works.
Any time the songs or movies air on TV or online, or if someone buys the DVD or CD, or streams the songs online, the buyer gets a little cash from the royalties. During the last 12 months, the whole portfolio of music and movies brought in $108,500 in royalties, according to Royalty Exchange.
Royalty Exchange is holding a live auction for the songs and screenwriter residuals on behalf of the estate of Tony Geiss. The Emmy Award-winning songwriter and screenwriter died in 2011.
