Well, summer's just about over, and accordingly, the summer housing season is cooling too.

Last week, a higher share of new homeowners paid less than asking price than paid over asking price. Specifically, 40.6 percent of the people who bought a home paid less than its asking price. Overbids were 35 percent of last week's home purchases.

The underbids of last week ranged from $400 less to a full $225,000 under list price. Here are the top five underbids of the last week.
