Only one restaurant in Denver made Bon Appétit's top 50 list of Best New American Restaurants this year. Do you want to guess what it is?
Of course not, because I already told you in the headline. Sorry.
Anyway, it's Call, the new little café at 29th and Larimer streets. If the name sounds familiar, that's because you're probably used to hearing to it referred to as "Beckon Call." It's one half of a two-space concept that hasn't opened its fancier Beckon half yet. (They're shooting for November, according to The Know.)
And speaking of The Know: food writer Allyson Reedy strongly recommends the fried egg and pork sandwich ($7.50) at Call. Honestly the photo there should do the trick, if you're into that sort of thing.
If that's not your sort of thing, I suspect you'll find something (healthier) you'll like on the menu, which you can browse here.
Hours at Call are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. They also take orders for pickup through the website.
The magazine will announce the top 10 — excuse me, Hot 10 — on Aug. 14.
